SIX STEPS TO AN EASY RIDE

New to CTtransit? Learn the basics of riding our buses with these simple steps.

01

Plan Your Trip

Use CTtransit's Trip Planner to plan your trip, check schedules, and track arrivals. Take Note: Always plan to arrive at your bus stop five minutes early. Ride smart!

02

Bus Stops

Bus stops are located every 2-3 blocks along routes and are marked with official bus stop signs.

03

Identifying Your Bus

Before boarding, check the route number. The route number and name are listed on the sign above the windshield. Transit Tip: Give the operator a friendly wave to confirm you want to board.

04

Have Your Fare Ready

As the bus approaches, have your fare ready. Please have exact cash and coins in hand, or have your digital ticket ready to show your operator. This makes boarding a breeze!

05

Sit Back and Enjoy the Ride

CTtransit buses announce major stops aloud as they approach. The bus is a great place to relax, but make sure you stay aware of upcoming stops.

06

Request Your Stop

One block before your destination, pull the cord to request the operator to stop. You will hear the announcement say “Stop Requested.”
