Ways to Pay for your Ticket

Passes

Purchase passes through our e-commerce site. Find information on local prepaid fares, express passes, and ADA paratransit tickets to meet your specific travel needs.

Card or Phone

Pay using contactless methods with the Go CT Card or Token Transit App. These digital payment options provide faster boarding and eliminate the need for exact change.

On the Bus

Pay your bus fare with exact cash or coins. Standard and discounted fares for youth (18 and under), seniors, customers with disabilities, and veterans available.

Reduced Fares

Youth, seniors, customers with disabilities, 
and veterans can travel for a reduced fare at any time on CTtransit.

Senior/Disabled

Senior citizens (65 years or older) and/or persons with a qualifying disability are eligible. Go CT senior/disabled card or Medicare card must be shown with use of senior/disabled pass or ticket.

Veterans

Veterans or active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible. Go CT veterans card must be shown with use of veteran pass or ticket.

Youth

Individuals ages 5-18 are eligible. Proof of age may be requested.

We offer several convenient options to purchase tickets and passes online, by phone, or in person. 

CTtransit Outlets

Visit one of our official Customer Service and Sales Outlets to buy your tickets and passes.

Online Order

Purchase your passes or tickets online from CTtransit. Pay with your Visa, Mastercard, or Discover card.

Retail and Partner Outlets

Tickets and passes can be purchased from participating retail locations.

Buy Tickets by Mail

Please ensure that mail check is payable to CTtransit or pay with your Visa/MasterCard/Discover card.

CTpass : Discounted Fares for Eligible Organizations

Employers, schools and non-profits can enroll to receive a discounted rate on a 31-day local bus pass.

U-Pass CT Program

U-pass CT offers students at participating colleges unlimited free rides on Connecticut buses and trains, included in student fees.

UniTicket

UniTicket combines a Metro-North and CTtransit monthly ticket into a single deeply discounted pass. UniTickets are only sold at Metro-North ticket offices and ticket vending machines.

Plus Bus

CTtransit local bus service can be added onto CTrail monthly tickets for only $10. Tickets are sold at CTrail ticket vending machines and on the CTrail e-tix app.
